Catching up on some of the ABC podcasts:

In this week’s video podcast, Josh Holloway talks about what is was like to play sideways Sawyer in Recon. He also talks about how the actors, when the show first started, never imagined it would be so successful.

And speaking of Josh Holloway, ABC also put out a promo full of clips of Sawyer, set to music:

In last week’s audo podcast, Damon and Carlton talked about Sundown, raising the questions of whether Sayid was good or evil, and whether Dogen deserved what he got.

They talked about Dr. Linus, which Damon said was one of their favorite episodes of the season, if not the entire series.

They revealed something interesting about the episode title Recon: that it had a double meaning. It meant reconnaissance, but it also meant re-con, as in to con again.

They said that LOST: The Zombie Season will not be a Broadway musical, alas.

On a serious note, they said that the Man in Black may have gotten stuck in Locke’s form because that was the form he was in at the time that Jacob died.

Finally, Carlton got stymied by a viewer question about lactation.

Sneak peeks 6×09 Ab Aeterno

Ab aeterno means since the beginning of time, or since a very long time ago — an appropriate title for what looks like it will be an episode about Jacob’s people.

This first sneak peek features Jacob and Ilana. We’ve seen this scene before, or at least part of it:

The second sneak peek also has Ilana, this time on the Island with the candidate LOSTies. (Not particularly spoiler-ish.)

Sneak peek # 2 for 6×07 “Dr Linus” — slightly spoilerish

This scene is from the sideways world. It’s SO good:

And, if I can toot my own horn for a sec, Elba, the word that Ben writes on the blackboard in the clip, is something I was thinking about when I wrote my theory Oedipus Lost.

That theory, which I wrote before Season 6 started, now appears to be wrong in some respects. But I think in one respect — that something is going on that has to do with exile — it might be close to being right. Though from what we’ve seen so far this season, it wasn’t Jacob who was in exile and trapped on the Island against his will (which is what I had been thinking at the time) — it was Smokey.

Theories aside, I love to watch sideways Ben as a teacher. That scene from a few episodes back where he was fussing over the coffee pot in the break room was one of my favorite of the season so far. It was pitch perfect — it seemed exactly how Ben would have turned out if he hadn’t been immersed in the Pool of Doom in the temple as a child.

The sneak peek for next week’s episode has been leaked early.

I love the way Michael Emerson says the line “I’m fine, thank you.”

Latestlost, who posted the clip, calls it “very spoilery.” In my opinion, it’s not particularly spoilerish (assuming you’ve already seen 6×06 Sundown), but consider yourself warned.
