Matthew Fox gets lucky, for the most part

Jack, drunk and disheveled, in LOST 3x22 "Through the Looking Glass"

A lot has happened in Matthew Fox’s life in the last month.

Fox got very, very lucky. First, the assault case — filed against him by a female bus driver who said Fox repeatedly punched her when she wouldn’t let him on her private party bus — was dropped. According to EW.com, the bus driver’s lawyer said his client “‘intentionally failed and refused to provide full and timely cooperation and information,’ and … failed to honor an agreement to pay his out-of-pocket expenses.”

Fox got lucky again when he found out he won’t have to serve any jail time for his DUI arrest, though he will probably have to go to alcohol rehab.

Fox’s luck ran out a bit when fellow LOST cast mate Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) tweeted that Fox “beats women.not isolated incidents.often.” Fox said he hadn’t spoken to Monaghan in years and found the comments “baffling.”

Evangeline and Dominic talk about LOST’s first year at Comic-Con 2004

This was just recently posted on YouTube, but I don’t know when it was made. I would guess around 2005 or 2006.

It’s interesting — it has Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan talking about how surprised they were that so many people wanted to see the series pilot at Comic-Con before the show was on the air. They had to get another auditorium because the room they originally planned to use couldn’t hold all the people who wanted to be there.

It’s great to see Evangeline and Dominic being so enthusiastic about their memories of that day and to see how excited they were when they first realized that LOST, as Dominic says, “was going to be gold dust.” It reminds me of how special LOST once was and what an incredible sense of anticipation I felt, especially during the show’s first year.

Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) in a music video, thinking about Twinkies

This music video has Eminem rapping, Rihanna singing, and Dominic Monaghan and Megan Fox kissing, fighting, and otherwise acting out the words of the song. At the end, Penny’s boat comes and rescues them all.

Just kidding about that last bit.

The song and the video aren’t my cup of tea (too violent), but I enjoyed seeing Dominic in yet another role.

I found this video on sl-LOST. A lot of the LOST blogs have become inactive, but sl-LOST is still posting fresh, interesting stuff every day, which makes it a great place to go if you want to get a LOST blog fix. Well, after you come here, of course. 😉

In an interview with MTV, Dominic said

the concept of the clip revolves around domestic violence and Eminem’s tumultuous relationship with his twice-ex wife, Kim. “It’s the story of them getting to know each other and it’s the story of their tumultuous relationship and it’s the story of the breakdown of their relationship …

“I was playing Slim Shady and trying as hard as I could to be Slim Shady.”

For motivation, the German-born, British-bred actor said he listened to Em’s first two albums a lot and tried to get into a “nasty, dirty … white trash” frame of mind, strutting around the set in either no shirt or a dirty cut-off T-shirt and thinking about one of his favorite snacks, Twinkies.

Twinkies. Ha.

Charlie will be in three episodes in Season 6

E! Online is saying that they have exclusive info, from unnamed sources, that Charlie, played by Dominic Monaghan, will be back for three more episodes.

FlashForward — the next LOST?

ABC is pitching a new show, FlashForward, as something that will appeal to LOST fans. In the preview video (below), they even start off by saying “From the network that brought you LOST ….”

The show features Sonya Walger, LOST’s Penny, in a starring role. There are also rumors that Dominic Monaghan, who played Charlie, may be in the cast, but the FlashForward producers are just saying “no comment.”

The premise of the show is that everyone in the world, for some unknown reason, blacks out for two minutes and 17 seconds and gets a glimpse of their lives six months in the future, although they don’t know if what they see will actually happen.

I must say, the premise doesn’t really grab me, but it will all depend on what they do with it. When I first heard the premise of LOST — a bunch of people crash on an island — I thought “eh.” And now look where I am, totally addicted.

ABC screened the pilot episode for the press yesterday. One reviewer called it “grand in scope, but uneven.”

ABC already has an official FlashForward site.

The show starts on September 24, 2009 at 8:00 PM (7:00 Central).

Jorge Garcia (Hurley) sings even more!

I love these “actors singing” videos.

Here, Jorge sings the bluesy “Mustang Sally” with a group comprised entirely of actors from various TV shows at the Netflix Live concert in August, 2008.

Jorge isn’t listed in the promo material, so maybe he was a surprise guest.

And here’s a clip where Jorge is singing “I Feel Good” in character, as Hurley. Notice how a wave from the ocean provides a final beat! I love Hurley’s last line too. It’s from Episode 1×21, The Greater Good.
