Canadian promo for LOST 6×05 Lighthouse

This promo, which has footage from the upcoming episode, is very similar to a promo shown in the U.S. that I already posted. But where the U.S. version puts up several screens of writing, the Canadian version goes straight through — so you can see a bit more of the episode footage.

Schedule for LOST 6×05 Lighthouse — Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010

Another week, another episode!

First we’ve got an enhanced rerun of The Substitute at 8:00, with the pop-up hints. Then the new episode Lighthouse starts at 9:00. (All times an hour earlier Central Time).

Here’s the official ABC description of Lighthouse:

Hurley tries to persuade Jack to go with him on an unspecified mission; Jin has an encounter with an old friend.

An “unspecified mission” and an unspecified “old friend.” I like the way ABC tries not to give anything away.

Though I think we already know who Jin’s “old friend” is. I think they already showed us that in the final moments of 6×03.

As for Hurley and Jack’s mission — I hope they have a most interesting adventure.

Typical ending of LOST

You’re laughing, but you know it’s true. 😉

The making of the Cuatro chess promo

Remember the amazing chess-themed promo shown on the Spanish station Cuatro? Here’s a video that shows how it was made.

It turns out they had originally started with the Borges poem but then, because of copyright issues, they used the Omar Khayyam poem instead.

The original Spanish promo from Cuatro has been pulled from YouTube, but there are two English versions that are available (at least for now).

The Cuatro chessboard promo — English versions

The original Cuatro promo has been pulled from YouTube.

I found two other versions that are still available (at least at the moment). The first is a version with English text, which I think was fan-made:

The second was narrated by Terry O’Quinn (Locke). The translation here is a bit different from the one widely circulated with the original promo. What before had been translated as “destiny” is here translated as “fate.” I actually liked “destiny” better, because of the way it echoed the language used in LOST.

Subscribe to LOST for a reason by email

To set this up, I had to reroute all the feeds. Hopefully (knock on wood), this will not have any effect on existing RSS subscriptions. But if you have any problems with your subscription, please let me know.

This is something I’ve been wanting to offer for a while, but I’m not super technologically proficient, so it got left on the back burner. Now I just have to figure out how to put a miniature email icon up in the top menu bar…
