Tom Richmond, the MAD Magazine artist who has been doing fantastic caricatures of the LOST stars, has added four new ones since the last time I posted about them: Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Yunjin Kim (Sun), Mitchell (Juliet), and Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert). I love these sketches. When I see the MAD style, I’m hit by a wave of nostalgia for my misspent MAD-Magazine-reading childhood. Combine that with my current obsession, LOST, and the effect is mesmerizing. See the whole collection at: Tom Richmond’s Sketch O’ The Week.

Musician Marilyn Manson is also a painter. Who knew? He painted a deliciously creepy portrait of Locke: See Marilyn Manson’s Cool ‘Lost’ Painting.

This week’s official video podcast goes behind the scenes to ask some of the show’s writers, producers, and editors “If Damon and Carlton were the Man in Black and Jacob, which side would you choose?” Damon himself says he’s most like Jacob, because Jacob is passive-aggressive and moody. In this week’s video podcast, Josh Holloway talks about what is was like to play sideways Sawyer in Recon. He also talks about how the actors, when the show first started, never imagined it would be so successful.

And speaking of Josh Holloway, ABC also put out a promo full of clips of Sawyer, set to music:

Damon and CarltonIn last week’s audo podcast, Damon and Carlton talked about Sundown, raising the questions of whether Sayid was good or evil, and whether Dogen deserved what he got.

They talked about Dr. Linus, which Damon said was one of their favorite episodes of the season, if not the entire series.

They revealed something interesting about the episode title Recon: that it had a double meaning. It meant reconnaissance, but it also meant re-con, as in to con again.

They said that LOST: The Zombie Season will not be a Broadway musical, alas.

On a serious note, they said that the Man in Black may have gotten stuck in Locke’s form because that was the form he was in at the time that Jacob died.

Finally, Carlton got stymied by a viewer question about lactation.

Sawyer remembering Juliet in 6x03 What Kate Does

Sawyer remembering Juliet

My favorite scene in “What Kate Does” was when Sawyer said it was his fault that Juliet died — “I made her stay on this Island because I didn’t want to be alone.”

Josh Holloway was completely convincing and very moving in this scene. It reminded me that it was his acting skill, in large part, that had made the Sawyer-Juliet love story the best love story of the show.
